I'm going to try and be brief, yet frequent with my blog communication over the coming weeks; I think this is easier for you to absorb the information coming your way! Here are a couple of points for today:
- There are significant changes to our district's chaperon and volunteer requirements in an effort to be as safe as possible regarding those who work with our children. Please be on the lookout for this information as the year starts, however, the change that I want to highlight right now is regarding field trip chaperons. By rule, any adult (including parents) who will have moments where they are not being directly overseen by a staff member at all times, will need to go through the background check clearance process. This would include Catalina chaperons, etc. So, if you have any anticipation of participating as a field trip volunteer, pay close attention to early information coming from your teacher. I'm telling you as soon as possible so you can be prepared whereas we will not be able to make exceptions.
- Class rosters will be made available within the next eight days or so, through the Infinite Campus Portal. However, we will post "old school" lists, as well. Stay tuned; when the district opens the portal, you will be able to view your child's placement.
